Pass it On!

Thompson Marketing is pleased to announce another collaboration with the San Antonio River Authority and the Olmos Basin Alliance for a 3rd PSA to be due out this spring.

We have already created two very well received and effective PSA’s for this same cause and look forward to the affect all three will have when they are launched to Television in and around the San Antonio area and Bexar county, very soon.

Currently residing in numerous places on the web, we felt it was high time we refreshed our viewership awareness and gave you a reminder of our common goals with SARA and the Olmos Basin Alliance. Have a look at these two PSA’s we produced last October. Feel free to comment and pass them along your social networks. If you have any soul in you, then you have a desire to improve and restore our natural resources in San Antonio. Let’s start by sending these sweet babies out there for all to see! Yes, we’re asking a favor of you. We’re asking you to not only care, but to take just a little action that will go a long long way!  Thanks from all of us here at Thompson.

So… Pass it On!

X’s and O’s to all our clients

Happy Valentines Day to all our lovely clients out there. We cherish you. From all of us here, we would like to give you an extended, uncomfortably long hug.
……*huuuuuuuuuuuuug*

There.

We’re still busy as ever, here, as you can see from this intense photo of Ken and John hashing out the answers to marketing’s most perplexing questions.

John and Ken hash it out one idea at a time.

Let us know when we can do the same for you!

Love,
Thompson

More Greatness @ Wayland Baptist University in San Antonio

Thompson Marketing and Wayland Baptist University have completed video production last week for what will be a series of interviews with finishing students of 2012.

These Students were interviewed about their experiences at Wayland Baptist U. and had some excellent things to say.

It’s now up to Adam Stielstra, Director / Editor, to take this footage and weave it in to a series of short videos that will loop on the various closed circuit TV’s on the many Wayland campus’ as well as turn them in to promotional TV spots to recruit new students to Wayland Baptist University.

It was an excellent experience with some dynamic footage and a fantastic crew. Keep an eye out for video clips on our blog and website.

Finally, a big thanks to Wayland Baptist University and the students that volunteered their time to enthusiastically share their  stories.

Our Own Man in Black

Here at TM, all work and no play is just not part of the formula. In fact, work and play go hand in hand when developing creative strategies for our clients. It may seem like it’s just for fun, and it is, but it’s for much more than that too. At TM we go to great lengths to make ideas “come alive”. From concept to actual creation, the process of producing great communications never stops. As you can see, even our CEO, Ken Thompson, has a lot to offer from strategic business to down home roots music. Our very own Man in Black strums the chords of creativity to inspire us all. No, it’s not his desire to join a Mariachi band. It’s just his way of crooning us in to a place where our minds can travel a little further in to that special place that makes us all great at what we do.

With a boss like this, who needs headphones? Ok, maybe we all do, but it’s his intentions that matter. So, in the name of all things creative, Ken, we salute you! Keep on rocking’ in the Ad world!

This is TM news, signing out.

Be a Good Neighbor to Nature

Thompson Marketing, along with the San Antonio River Authority and the Olmos Basin Alliance, recently wrapped shooting and post production for two very special sixty second PSA’s geared to educate and promote awareness about loose trash and recyclable products and what becomes of them if not properly disposed of.The first of the two PSA’s will run in local theaters during the 2011 holiday season. Specifically for audiences in the Olmos Basin area including Alamo Heights and Olmos Park.

The two spots, titled Cup and Bag are simple ideas at their core with a strong and obvious message; pick up your trash! Recycle your stuff! The stories are simple too; Put only to music, images of a piece of garbage carelessly tossed away is followed on its journey to join the many mounds of things just like it that collect in very specific places due to rain, wind, and flowing water.

Shooting took place over several days in numerous locations and with an extremely diverse production approach. Filming from the air, tops of buildings, backs of pick-up trucks, around downtown San Antonio, Green Screen studios, underwater, above water, and in some of the filthiest ditches in the Olmos Basin. There was also extreme diversity in the approach to video formats. Utilizing up to 5 different types of HD Video cameras ranging from the most expensive gear available to small underwater cameras available to anyone, Director Adam Stielstra was able to take the visual story in to places most viewers don’t go and haven’t seen before now. Working with Bauhaus Media Group’s Eric Hanken and Alamo Helicopter Tours to capture some striking aerial footage of the city along with Craig Cuny and Andrew Goodwin from Lone Star Directions to get knee deep in the muck and mire of trash and debris.

Post production included the use of some involved compositing and CG animation to create flying trash bags around the city streets and skyline of San Antonio. The most striking of these being trash swirling around the antenna atop the Tower of the America’s. Editing, animation, and color correction was exclusively produced and directed within Thompson Marketing’s facilities by Adam Stielstra. Upon completion and review of these short films, the San Antonio River Authority received them with excitement and confidence that their message will effectively promote conscious efforts in the daily lives of people in San Antonio to take the small extra effort and responsibility to do the right thing to restore and preserve our natural resources we deeply depend on. Thompson Marketing is proud to have been a part in helping this campaign reach audiences around the city and to promote the message as well as taking action. It’s the right thing to do.
